Armed Robber Who Caused Commotion Near Maryland High School Linked To Second Robbery: Sheriff

The man who caused concern for some at Great Mills High School in St. Mary's County on Monday has been apprehended and connected to at least two armed robberies in the area, the sheriff's office announced.

Delano Jurail Parham-Nash, 20, who has no fixed address, is behind bars after being taken into custody on Feb. 12 in Lexington Park, officials say.

According to a spokesperson from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Monday morning, deputies were called to the 21100 block of Great Mills Road to investigate a reported armed robbery.

The witness said that they were robbed at gunpoint by an unknown man - later identified as Parham-Nash - who then fled the area into a nearby wooded area not far from Great Mills High School.

Responding deputies were able to locate Parham-Nash, who attempted to flee from them on foot, leading to a pursuit that ended with him being taken into custody.

Parham-Nash was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center to face charges that include: 

  • Armed robbery;
  • Robbery;
  • Firearm use in the commission of a violent crime;
  • First-degree assault;
  • Related offenses.

Investigators made note that during the investigation, Parham-Nash was also linked to an armed robbery at a business on Great Mills Road on Thursday, Feb. 1. Both incidents remain under investigation.
